On the heels of two extremely successful wine tasting benefit events, University Settlement hosted Aging Gracefully, its third annual wine dinner and fine wine auction at Christie’s auction house on Tuesday, March 13, 2007. Each year the event has sold out (with a waiting list!) and brought together leaders in New York’s banking and finance community. As in the past, this year’s event served as an excellent networking opportunity for the guests. For the second year in a row Bank of America was the lead sponsor. Merrill Lynch joined this year as the wine sponsor. This exclusive marquee event was a marketing and philanthropic opportunity for our lead and wine sponsors, as well as our table sponsors: Bear Stearns, Deutsche Bank, Dresdner Kleinwort, Guggenheim Partners, Kingdon Capital Management, and RAIT Financial Trust. University Settlement Board Members Jeffrey C. Cohen (Managing Director & Head of Institutional Equity Sales, Banc of America Securities) and James K. Finkel (CEO, Dynamic Credit Partners, LLC) chaired the event. Guests enjoyed flights of fine wine, expertly paired with each of the five gourmet courses designed by Colin Alevras, Chef/Owner of The Tasting Room. An exceptional group of wine experts served as table hosts, offering their knowledge of wine throughout dinner. Hosts included Eric Asimov, Chief Wine Critic, The New York Times; Richard Brierley, Head of North American Wine Sales, Christie’s; Gregory Dal Piaz, Astor Wine & Spirits and The Study at Astor Center; Mark Goldweitz, private collector; Lyle Kula, D.W.S., Manhattan District Manager, Kobrand Corporation; Olivier Masmondet, Director of Sales, Maison Louis Jadot and Mâitre Sommelier de France; Sheldon Rabin, private collector; Brian Robinson, D.W.S., Wine Director, The Tasting Room and Founder, Gnarly Vines; W.R.
