On October 27, 2004, University Settlement hosted Extraordinary Wines of the World: An evening with Eric Asimov at the renowned Explorers Club,
located on New York City’s Upper East Side. This exclusive wine tasting led by Eric Asimov, Chief Wine Critic of The New York Times, was by
invitation only and limited to ninety guests. James K. Finkel, University Settlement Board Member and CEO of Dynamic Credit Partners, LLC,
chaired the event.
Eric Asimov led our guests through flights of wine, expertly paired with each of the five gourmet courses designed by Colin Alevras,
Chef and Sommelier of The Tasting Room. An exceptional group of special
guests served as table hosts, offering their knowledge of wine and food
throughout dinner. Table hosts included Eric Asimov, Chief Wine Critic, The New York Times; Beth von Benz, Wine Consultant; David Finckel&Wu Han, Artistic
Directors of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and Music@Menlo; James K. Finkel, CEO, Dynamic Credit Partners, LLC; Karen King, Beverage

The evening will also featured a live auction of fine wines commandeered by John Kapon, President and Auction Director, Acker Merrall & Condit.
