Featuring wine selections by

Heather Branch, Beverage Director, eighty one

After being mentored by Rajat Parr (The Fifth Floor) and Larry Stone (Rubicon) in San Francisco, an invitation from Tom Colicchio to create a wine list at Craftsteak, Las Vegas, led to Heather being named one of 2004's best new sommeliers by Wine  &  Spirits magazine. New York was next; after overseeing programs at Dona and Charlie Palmer's Aureole, she created the opening list for the Upper West Side's eighty one in February 2008.

Belinda Chang, Beverage Director, The Modern

Recognized by Food  &  Wine Magazine for her outstanding wine lists and nominated for a James Beard Foundation "Outstanding Wine Service" Award, Belinda Chang joined
Danny Meyer's restaurant, The Modern, as Wine Director in November 2007. Previously, she ruled the wine cellars of Chicago top restaurants (Charlie Trotter's, Rick Tramonto's Osteria Via Stato) and San Francisco's Fifth Floor restaurant. She has appeared on wine segments on CBS, NBC and ABC and her expertise can regularly be found in The New York Times, Wine and Spirits Magazine and The Sommelier Journal.

James Horn, General Manager, Mermaid Inn

James began his career with Chef Jose Andres in Washington, D.C. as Beverage Director of his acclaimed restaurant, Zaytinya. After a successful tenure there, James was hired by Chef Michael Psilakis in New York to be the Sommelier at his Michelin-starred Greek restaurant, Anthos, where he wrote an award-winning, comprehensive wine list with a strong focus on Greek wines. From there, James helped open Psilakis' new, casual Greek restaurant Kefi, again writing and maintaining an all-Greek wine list. James' latest move has been to join restaurateur Danny Abrams as General Manager of the Mermaid in the East Village.

Troy Weissman, Wine Director, South Gate

Wine Director at the newly opened South Gate in The Jumeirah Essex House Hotel, Weissman's vast knowledge of wine was recognized in 2007 when he placed 2nd Runner Up in the American Sommelier Association's Best Sommelier in America competition.  Prior to joining South Gate, Weissman was the Beverage Director at Town and Wine Director at Beacon Restaurant.
